ABOUT
ABOUT
Exile, or perhaps simply distance, has become my lens. Living abroad has gifted me the space to truly observe – the subtle choreography of daily life, the weight of domestic traditions, and the enigmatic allure of unfamiliar landscapes. My paintings are, in essence, a visual diary of these observations.
Where others perceive emptiness, I find potential. The void – an abandoned vessel, drawn curtains, a house stripped of its past – becomes a site of exploration. I seek to illuminate the power of what remains unseen, the silent narratives that reside in the spaces between. Through my work, I invite you to experience the profound value of the non-visible.

While my early artistic start was in sculpture and later photography, painting is now my focus. 20 years living abroad shaped me and influenced my artistic subjects. My work evolves around and reflects on the people that mark me and surroundings that puzzle me, culminating in Wary Portraits or series like Assertive Vessels or Sailing Curtains.
Encounters in my teens and twenties with works by Whistler in Washington (school exchange Germany/Texas, US) and Giacometti at the Museum Reina Sofia (student program 1991; Madrid, Spain) and the evocative covering of the Reichstag, Berlin Germany by Christo and Jeanne-Claude captured my interest till today for the color white, a reduction of form and color to its essential and the mystic of the hidden.
My process is somewhat seasonal; like my life abroad. I stay in the mountains in the winter and move to the sea in the summer. These former unfamiliar surroundings have a huge impact on my work. As the light, the colors changes the subject matters are most often out of the domestic; like vessels, chairs, curtains, windows.
Photographs, old work and references I try to keep away from the studio, so that the space remains a place for unfiltered exploration and freedom to seek an intuitive closeness to my subjects. Each piece emerges through layers of brushstrokes. For me, art is a quest, and each piece surprises me with its revelations.
Calling myself an artist I only embraced in 2024. Realizing that my drive to create and interpret the world visually was intrinsic. Although my journey started in early childhood, with formative experiences in a local museum. Making clay figures letting me early experience the impact of persistence and the liberation of creating. Although art has always called to me, I initially pursued engineering, influenced by a family where art felt both captivating and perilous. This internal conflict took years to reconcile, but I finally understood that art was more than a hobby — it was my purpose.
